Summer Fun with May Arts, Little Yellow Bicycle and Xyron

Today we are making some fun! How about hosting a crafty get together and create some fun accordion Mini Albums? That's just where I got the inspiration for these projects. My girlfriends and I have a monthly crafty get together- we are actually doing a round robin swap and these get togethers are where we "hand off" our swap to the next gal. We usually have a fun make and take we do and this month my dear friend Erin came up with a little bunting project. Now we made ours with lace and tulle-but mine was made of my stash of May Arts ribbon! My mini was made with Little Yellow Bicycle's Poppy Collection  and I put it all together with my Xyron Mega Runner and Create a Sticker 2.5. The album is SUPER easy to make and I included a quick video tutorial on how to make it! Have fun!
{here are my goodies!}

{Erin used her Mason jars for lemonade-I chose to use it as a vase. I have to admit I love anything in a Mason jar}

{The great thing about this little bunting is that I can reuse my ribbon at anytime! Just un-loop and press the wrinkles out! Win-Win!}

{These little books are so fun to make and great for little pictures!}

{so fun to open, it explodes with color and fun!}

{I like to keep it a little simple on the inside, espicially where the folds are}

{Here is one half- I used my Xyron Create A Sticker 2.5 inch to run my ribbon through}

{Don't you just love that oversized ric-rac from May Arts??}

{And the back can be done too!}
Now let's make and album!

Supplies-
Accordion Book:

Jelly Jar Vase:

Bunting:
1 yard jute twine

Me at 44

Yep today is the big #44 Birthday for me! Last year I did a Birthday post with a pic of my in my craft room so I think I'll just keep with the theme! I read where I was last year this time and for the most part things are going the same. Except for Derby. I started playing roller derby last year in October. It has been amazing for me both mentally and physically. The men and women I have met through derby has really broadened my circle of friends. Physically it has been so good for me, instead of watching reality shows and kicking it on the couch after work, I gear up and go sweat for two hours! Even though I AM one of the older derby gals- there is by no means a lack of Over 40's playing the game. And the best part is my hubby plays too. We met roller skating almost 20 years ago and it is such a big part of our lives together. Crafting has been amazing too- I got to stay on Graphic 45 and Clearsnaps design teams, and picked up two more- Xyron and Petaloo- I am so passionate about all of these products I feel like I am living a dream every time the fedex guy drops of a 12x12 box! See ya next year for my next birthday post!
here is last years pic and OMG I almost reached for the same dress today LOL but alas I have not shaved my legs tee heee!

Xyron and Epiphany Crafts Blog Hop! We are makin' jewelry here people!

When this tiny little box arrived at my door, I wasn't quite sure what I would be making for this hop. But big things come in small packages and the Shape Studio from Epiphany Crafts is no exception! A quick peek at the easy instructions and I was punching away! I had so much fun I will be heading out to collect more shapes! Combined with Xyron Create a Sticker- you can say goodbye to two part resins and all that drying time and just create and go. I had so much fun creating these jewelry pieces- especially since I was able to squeeze in Graphic 45's newest paper collection Bohemian Bazaar- here is a little video showing how I turned those tiny Epiphany Crafts Metal Ovals in Patina Masterpieces!

A little Jewelry Project today

I finally get to post this project as it is now in the hands of it's new owner. I made it for my dear friend Andrea Villareal who turned the big 40 last month! Andrea loves religious figures; Santos, Virgin Marys and crosses. I found this lovely amber colored vintage rosary and knew I wanted to make it into something special for her. So I made a "Frankenstein" necklace, where I take little bits from other pieces and combine them into one. I did add some vintage milky pink beads I got from Bediak and I loved how it came out...so much that I reallllllly did not want to give it away! But Andrea is worth it, she has been there since I began my crafty lifestyle and has been a driving force in my success-thank you dear girl!
{I had some extra pearl links from the vintage bracelet-so I added them in with these brass links}

{what necklace is not complete without some rhinestones-taken off a broken piece of a modern piece-I sandwiched them in between the vintage glass beads}

{Originally I just had the necklace attached to the cross, but it wasn't grand enough! So I took the broken end of a vintage bracelet and joined the ends to it-then strung it down with the charms and cross}

{So gorgeous! Can't go without saying that I was inspired by Andrea Singarella- she is one of Andrea Villareals favorite and I actually won one of her bracelets at an event recently and just love her style!}
